Specific terms and standards for service professionals on Surework.

Notice for Service Providers This Agreement governs your participation as an approved service professional ("Handyman" or "Provider") on the Surework Platform.

1. Independent Contractor Relationship

  • You understand and acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of Surework.
  • You maintain complete discretion over when you accept jobs, subject to fulfilling all commitments once a booking is confirmed.
  • You are solely responsible for your own tools, personal safety equipment, taxes, and statutory contributions.

2. Verification and Identity Standards

  • To offer services, you must provide valid Nigerian identification (NIN, Driver's License, or Voter's Card), verifiable trade credentials, and reliable guarantor information.
  • You agree to notify Surework immediately of any changes to your qualifications, contact details, or legal status.
  • Misrepresentation of identity or skills constitutes grounds for immediate, permanent termination and potential referral to authorities.

3. Job Execution & Professional Conduct

As an approved Surework professional, you agree to:

  • Arrive punctually at the scheduled time and update your job status in real time ("On the way", "Started", "Completed").
  • Execute all tasks with professional skill, diligence, and care conforming to industry standards.
  • Provide honest, itemized quotations for materials and labor for inspection-required jobs.
  • Clean up any debris or workspace before marking the job as complete.
  • Maintain a polite, courteous, and respectful demeanor with all customers at all times.

4. Escrow Payouts and Platform Fees

  • Payment for completed jobs is held in escrow and released to your verified Nigerian bank account upon customer confirmation or automated system release.
  • Surework will deduct its agreed platform commission from each transaction before transferring the balance to your account.
  • Payouts are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) via direct bank transfer.

5. Non-Circumvention and Direct Dealing

  • You agree strictly NOT to solicit, accept, or solicit cash or direct bank transfers from any customer introduced through Surework.
  • Direct dealing or attempts to bypass platform escrow will result in immediate termination of your handyman account, forfeiture of unpaid platform bonuses, and legal claim for lost platform revenue.

6. Suspension and De-Platforming

Surework reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Receive recurring customer complaints or poor ratings (below 3.5 stars average).
  • Fail to show up for confirmed appointments without prior emergency notice.
  • Violate safety regulations, damage customer property, or engage in unlawful or threatening behavior.
